Animals make me happy, therefore, so does Urimbirra Wildlife Park.
Urimbirra is a free-range style wildlife park, on the outskirts of Victor Harbor town. Set with sweeping lawns, and overhanging gum trees, you can roam the park and make loads of new furry friends…..
The animals are of course very tame, and if you’re carrying a bag of feed, they will be your best friends!
I laid myself out on one of the grassed areas, food pellets in hand, and was soon surrounded by many of my favourite natives. The kangaroos are not shy, and will gladly eat out of your hand, whether you offer them food or not!
They have koala shows and snake handling times. (Koalas for me, snakes not so much)
Although the animals are mostly natives, you can still meet other cute critters like guinea pigs, rabbits, ponies and more.
The entry price is very affordable, and if you’re an entertainment book user you can score two-for-one entry :)
You are also welcome to use the park’s BBQ, and set yourself up a picnic.
It’s a humble, friendly park, and it’s South Australian family owned. Combine it with a trip to Victor, and you’ve got yourself a very enjoyable day out.
